New Year's Eve

Pierce had a fever the day before New Year's, so we planned a fun evening at home.  Because he was fighting sickness, we started the countdown at 5:00.

Balloon #1 was "Pin the Tail on the Llama"

We were belly laughing at this point.  Pierce was headed in the wrong direction, but he was so confident.

Balloon #2 was "Supper by Candlelight"

We had never done this before, and it was really fun.  We had cheeseburger soup.

Balloon #3 was "Glow in the Dark Ring Toss"

After a while, we switched to wine bottles.  These had narrower tops and didn't fall over.  We were all much more successful.

Balloon #4 was "Decorate Cookies"

Instead of colored frosting.  This time we did different sprinkles.  This was fun for them.

Balloon #5 was "Countdown to the New Year"

We watched a countdown video on TV.  Then we toasted and made some noise.

This was one of the best evenings we've ever had as a family.  It was so simple, but so fun!  We will definitely do this again!

Runcie Christmas

On Christmas Day, after spending the morning at home, we went to Zach's parent's for their Christmas.
Aunt Julie had these shirts made for the boys

Watching a Christmas movie so the littles could nap and the adults could open presents

We didn't plan to, but we ended up staying the night there, so that we could stay up and play games.  The next morning, the kids had hot chocolate in their new cups.
