The Burkle Christmas was at our house this year. We invited the family to come to watch our kids in the musical and then do Christmas the same weekend. It worked for everyone, and it was nice to have a Christmas early. Because we hosted, it was up to us to pick the food challenge. We decided on gourmet burgers.
Jess and Rod made a Philly cheesesteak stuffed burger
We have a family joke about McDonald's burgers. Josh and Megan made homemade burgers to replicate McDonalds. They tasted just like them.
I don't have a picture, but Zach and Megan made a bbq Mac n cheese burger with bacon jam.
My parents made a black truffle burger with mushrooms
After trying all of the burgers, we realized we chose a bad category. We love any gourmet burger. They were all delicious, and all could have won.
In the end, my parents' presentation took them over the edge.
Their prize was a burger ornament.
For the kids exchange, I had the idea to exchange experiences instead of things. We got the Schulz boys a certificate to go to a college World Series game.
The boys got the Buckle girls tickets to a Lied Center show.
And the Burkle girls got our kids a gift card to Urban Air, an adventure center in Lincoln.
Her cup says, "Tears of my pickle ball opponents"
We got them a plaque with a piece of the floor from the volleyball record-breaking game.
That evening we went to the Christmas dinner theater show
Merry Christmas from the Burkles
