Fall Vocal Concerts

Monroe had a solo at her first high school vocal concert.

We were very impressed with the choirs at the first concert

She is a member of Uncaged, the varsity show choir.  She also tried out for and made Unlimited.  It is a special needs choir, the first of its kind in the state.  Each student with special needs has a typical student they are paired with.

This is Jocelyn, Monroe's buddy.  Her mom got both girls flowers!

The show choir had a preview show.  This is our chance to see the show before the competition season starts.  It was SO good!

Her studio dance teachers came to watch

This one is amazing!

Halloween

Trunk or treat at the high school

This year for Halloween, we decided to try a new neighborhood.  Monroe works a haunted house at her friend's and the street is packed on Halloween.  So, we trick-or-treated there. There were people everywhere, lines at every house, over-the-top decorations, and people giving out candy from their porches.  We saw many of the boys' friends from school and my students.  I thought it was a fun change, but the boys missed our neighborhood.  They want to stay in our area next year.
Graham was a power ranger and Pierce was a light up stick figure
When it got dark, it was nice to find Pierce in the crowd with his light up costume

Huxley's costume got lots of attention

This year's haunted house was way scarier than last year's.  I had three nine-year-olds clinging to me the whole way through.

Soccer tournament in Omaha

Fall soccer ended with a tournament in Omaha.
Our boys played on one field that was bigger than they were used to and another field that was significantly smaller.  They struggled to get into a rhythm on the small field.

After the first game, Graham was chosen as Player of the Match by the opposing team's coach.

Josiah and Oliver were also playing in the tournament

Then Pierce was chosen as Player of the Match for game 2!

Their team made it to the championship game, and then lost to a team they had already beaten.  It was hard for the boys because it was their first loss of the season.

2nd place

Before starting club soccer, I was nervous about the time commitment and travel.  I knew the boys would like it, but I didn't know if we would.  It ended up being a great time.  The travel was not bad at all.  The families were fun. The boys excelled and pushed themselves in ways I didn't know they could.  I was so impressed with their grit and drive.  I see many years of soccer in our future.
