State baseball and soccer

This spring we spent quite a few evenings at baseball and soccer games for Hastings High.  Four of the six senior basketball players plus Monroe's best friend's brother were on the baseball team, so we enjoyed supporting them.  Then, we started attending some soccer games because we were undefeated most of the season, and ended the regular season with just one loss.
Both the baseball team and soccer team made state.  We had our nephew, Karter's, graduation in Eagle on Friday and both teams played on Saturday in Omaha.  We decided to make a weekend of it and go support them.
Baseball was first.  We were the 8 seed playing the 1 seed, so we did not have high hopes.

After the game, we found a local lunch spot and did a little shopping.
Then, we had our first experience at Crumbl.
These were our choices for the four cookie box.

We LOVED the strawberry one.  The skillet cookie came in second.
I see more Crumbl in our future.  It was fun to sample them all and see what each person preferred.

After Crumbl we went to watch our nephew, Josiah, play soccer.  He plays for a Gretna team, even though he lives in Hastings.

Then, we all went to the Class B semi final soccer game.  For this game, we had much higher hopes.  The team was definitely planning to win state.

Unfortunately we did not win.  Schuyler had four very impressive goals.  All four were from way out and arced into the top of the goal.

Even though we lost both games, it was a fun day supporting Hastings in Omaha.

8th grade promotion - Ready for high school

Monroe had 8th grade promotion the second to last day of school.  I had never been to one before, and I thought it was well done.

Monroe's show choir sang the national anthem and a song.  You can hear Monroe the whole time.

The band and orchestra also both played a song.

They awarded four awards at the ceremony.  Monroe was one of five students who earned As in every subject all year.  She also received the Scholarship, Citizenship and Service award.

The students came up in their homerooms and were announced individually.  As their name's were called a slide with their activities was shown.

Their favorite teacher that they got to have two years

Monroe has so much to be proud of as she leaves middle school and so much to look forward to!  She made the Tigerettes dance team and the varsity show choir for next year.  She is so excited for both!

Track

The boys did track through the YMCA this spring.  They really enjoyed it.

They also participated in the city youth track meet.
Graham did the standing long jump

Pierce did the softball throw

Then they each ran the 100 and 200.  Pierce placed 4th in the 200 and Graham placed 5th.

Finally, they ran the 4x100 relay and placed 2nd.
