We have never liked our system for backpacks and shoes at our house. It gets even worse in the winter when coats get added. We have looked at cabinets online, but we've not found one that we loved. This winter Zach decided he was going to build one from scratch for my Christmas present.
BEFORE
He started over Christmas break. His dad, who also enjoys woodworking came over and helped. There was a big learning curve, figuring out how to use new tools.
To speed up the process, the kids and I did all the painting. Here it is without the doors. We were able to start using it while he worked on doors over the next couple weeks.
The doors proved to be quite difficult. I have never seen my husband more frustrated. But, he got five made, and you wouldn't know that he struggled with them.
AFTER
We are so pleased with how it turned out! It looks great, and it definitely meets our needs. Thank you, Zach, for putting in a lot of work to build this for me!
