Girls' Weekend

Every year my friends from college get together for a girls' weekend.  We have done it for the last six years.  This year we decided to go to a Husker game.   Monroe got to come to Lincoln because a few of the girls hadn't met her.  She was the hit of the party.  Everyone had a great time together.

Emily thought it was crazy how much stuff Monroe needed, so we took a picture.

Five months

Monroe is growing and changing so much.  At five months, she loves to squeal, giggle, make noises with her mouth, chew on everything, scoot around in a circle, jump in her bouncer, splash in the bath, grab hair, touch faces, and cuddle.

I love that smile!

Go Big Red!

The college football season has finally started.  That means that Zach coaches middle school football Monday - Friday, takes stats for high school on Friday nights, watches college football all day Saturday, and watches pro all day Sunday.  It's a good thing I love football too.

Monroe has discovered her bottom lip, and she loves sucking on it.  This is the face she made all weekend.

Grandma had a balloon that Monroe loved.  She and Grandma had a lot of fun with it.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend we went home to North Platte to see my parents.  It was a wonderful time.  We played a lot of cards and went on walks.  Monroe loved time with Grandma and Grandma and Uncle Yeah.

Blue

I must have thought that Monroe looked especially cute in this outfit because I took a lot of different pictures the day she wore it.

State Fair

We went to the State Fair with Zach's parents last week.  We had a great time looking at animals and eating an array of fried food.  Last year during the fair, I had morning sickness (all day), so I didn't get to enjoy any food.  This year I was most excited for the fried Oreos.  They were awesome!  It was so cute seeing Monroe with the baby animals.  Next year will be even more fun when she knows what they are.

Art project

I bought a few canvases this summer, but I didn't know what I wanted to do with them.  Zach's brother's girlfriend, Emily, came up with the best idea.  She had made a small version for her room, but we were nervous to try it on such a large scale.

First, we drew out the tree.  This was the hardest part because we couldn't erase.

Then, we painted it brown.

Finally, we cut out leaves and birds from scrapbook paper and decoupaged them.

I absolutely love how it turned out.  Emily and I had a great time, and it looks perfect in our family room.  Thanks, Em!
