On Saturday morning, Monroe and I drove to Hastings to go to the Children's Museum with our play date group. There were only four moms who could make it this time. Hayden, Aubree, Adysen, Braxton, Jadyn, and Monroe had a great time.

2012 Family Yearbook
I thought it would be fun to link our family yearbook to the blog. I didn't do this with the 2011 book, but I like the idea of having it on here. Enjoy!

Monroe is 2!
Our baby girl is two! We can't believe it.
Monroe turning two was really emotional for me. I think it was partly due to the stress of the last two weeks. (Our new car has been in the shop with transmission problems since Sunday, the 7th. We've been sharing one car, and transmission issues aren't cheap. We've also been doing state testing the last two weeks, which is stressful.)
I also think my emotion comes from knowing how blessed we are. Going through infertility makes each birthday very special. We love being parents to this beautiful, intelligent, spunky, sweet, perceptive, opinionated, helpful, fun, independent, loud, caring, lovable little girl!
We measured Monroe on the new growth chart. She is up to 33 inches.
We interviewed Monroe on her birthday to get her answers to a few questions. She didn't like the idea at first, but she warmed up to it. It is a long video, but it gives a good view of Monroe at 2!
We love you, baby!

Monroe's 2nd birthday party
Decorating for Monroe's party was easier this year. I chose projects that were a lot less time-consuming. I also reused some things from last year. You may recognize the pinwheel board behind the Minnie ears. Our theme this year was Minnie Mouse.
The living room
The dining room
The table before food
Minnie Mouse cupcakes that Melinda and I made
Minnie Mouse cake that Melinda made. It was adorable and delicious!
I loved her name above the table
The table all set up
We waited to wake Monroe up until right before her party. By the time we got her dressed and did her hair, she made a grand entrance to her party.
We had a lot of family and friends who were able to make it.
After eating food, we opened presents. Monroe tore through the presents so quickly, I felt bad for the people who gave them to her.
We got Monroe a Rock, Roll, and Ride. It is a bike that will grow with her.
So far, the toys she likes the most are the things for her babies. She got a stroller, pack n play, swing, and high chair--all baby sized. She loves them!
Happy Birthday to you!
Yum!

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate!
Happy birthday Miss Monroe!
