Father's Day

The last few years, Monroe and I have taken Zach golfing for Father's Day.   The twins made that a little difficult this year, so I recruited Troy to take Zach in the morning instead.  While he was gone, Monroe and I had work to do.  Zach loves Caramel Delight (Samoa) Girl Scout cookies.  I found a Samoa pie that Monroe and I made for him.  We also made Scotcheroos, wrapped his gifts, and wrote on cards.

The boys hung out while we baked

After golf, Zach opened his gifts.  We got him his annual Father's Day picture, new boxers he's been wanting from Target and a flag pole for his Husker flag.

Last year's picture looks a lot different from this year's.

I love hearing what Monroe wants to write on cards.

My dad and me

That afternoon, we had family over to grill out.  My parents were on their way through after being in Lincoln.  Zach's parents and grandparents came, his aunt and uncle, some cousins, Derek, Lea Ann, Troy and Ashley.
Some amazing dads and future dads
Bentyn, Jordan, Dedrick, David, Jeff, Dennis, Joshken, Derek, Zach, Pierce, Doug, Grandpa, Troy, and Graham

Zach's Father's Day ended with his team, the Cavaliers, winning the NBA championship.  It was the first close game of the series, and came down to the final seconds.  It was a great way to end his day.

Happy Father's Day, Zach!  We love you and appreciate everything you do to make our family a happy, healthy one.

Meeting Hannah Huston

Hannah Huston is a girl from Grand Island who was on The Voice.  We watched the whole season and fell in love with Hannah.  When Hannah made the top four, Monroe cried happy tears, something I didn't know five-year-olds did.  We had to prepare Monroe that Hannah might not win the whole thing.  She ended up getting third place, which was amazing.
Because she is from Grand Island, the high school had a "Welcome Home Hannah" event.  With the chance to meet Hannah Huston, we knew we had to go.  When we arrived, we were told that we could go back stage and meet her.  (I had requested our tickets early enough that we were in reserved seating.)  That meant we didn't have to wait in line to meet her afterward.
Talking to her hero
Hannah is a preschool teacher, so she and Monroe had a lot to talk about.

Our family with Hannah Huston

Hannah didn't sing, but she told us all about her Voice journey.  She also answered interview questions.  It was fun to get to know her better.

Vacation Bible School

Monroe had VBS at Peace Lutheran this last week.  She had a great time.  I love that they post pictures of the day so that I can steal them for my blog.

Her group

I love this sweet picture of Grace.

On Thursday evening they had a family concert at the church.

Posing with the camel

The VBS music was lead by Jennie Williamson of AriSon all week.  She put on the concert and lead the kids in singing and dancing.  We love her songs!

 Marching around
We took Graham and Pierce, and they slept the whole time.

Can you find Monroe?

We went to church at Peace on Sunday so that Monroe could sing a few songs with the other kids.

One Month Old

Graham and Pierce are already one month old!  It has been a wonderful month.  We have the most perfect babies that have made the transition easy.  Friends and family have provided meals, gifts, house cleaning, and snuggle time that was much needed.
Zach is amazing!  He is the boys' full-time burper, diaper changer, and cuddler.  Monroe has adjusted well and is very helpful.  She loves her brothers!
Seeing this picture from two weeks ago makes me realize how much the boys have grown.

Zach tried wearing both boys while we went on a walk.  He did not like having both together.  He felt like they constantly needed adjusting.

A boy after Uncle Derek's and Grandpa Dennis' heart

Both boys are very calm when they're outside

Our friends Grant and Becki have twins that are four months older than ours.  We had to get a picture of the four of them together.

My friend Leslie had shirts made for the boys and Monroe.  Aren't they sweet?

My parents have been at our house to help a lot over the last month.  We couldn't have done it without them!

She loves being a big sister.

Another walk in the wagon

Heading out

I went to Eat at Mom's two days before they turned one month so that I could get their updated weights.  Pierce is 9 lbs 8 oz.  He has gained 3 lbs 2 oz in a month.

Graham is 8 lbs 15 oz.  He has gained 2 lbs 13 oz this month.
Nursing is going very well.  They like to eat!

Snuggling with Daddy

We figured out how to each wear one of the boys, so we ventured to the park.

So snuggly

Napping with Derek

Mwah!

 Officially one month old!
We are so blessed!
