State Fair

This year, we spent much less time at the State Fair compared to previous years.  I only went twice.  The first time was a girl's night with my mom and sisters.  We attended the Kellly Clarkson concert.

The concert was a great time.  There was no cover band, which threw all of us off.  Kelly was very personable.  She told a lot of stories about her personal life and past and how those things affect her music.  The music was also awesome!

My brother's girlfriend, Megan, is from California, so she had never been to a fair before.  We had a great time showing her all the sights and smells.  When we were looking at a baby calf, the owner handed us a bottle to feed him.

The next weekend we took the kids.  Monroe could not believe that we were only going once this year, but it had been a crazy month with the move.  We met the Johnstons there.

This is Miss Nebraska State Fair.  I helped crown her a couple months earlier.

Monroe loved the rides

She and Zach rode the big Ferris wheel together.

This was a highlight for the boys.  A parade of cool cars and tractors started right where we were sitting.
