Club Volleyball

Monroe was looking forward to another year of club volleyball after loving it so much last year.  Then, we found out that there wasn't going to be 6th grade teams this year.  I contacted the head coach and asked her if she would please add a 6th grade team if I could get someone to coach it.  She agreed, and I convinced my friend, Lyndsay, to be the head coach, and I would assist her.  We ended up having more 6th graders come to try-outs than any other grade, and we put two teams together.

Coaching this group of girls has been a blast.  We all have fun together at practices, and they made so much growth throughout the year.
1st tournament: made it to the gold bracket, but didn't place
2nd tournament: got second place
3rd tournament: got second place, lost to AC in close game that went to the 3rd set
4th tournament: made it to the gold bracket, but didn't place
5th tournament: made it to silver bracket and got 1st
6th tournament:  got second place

I got silly stringed!

After our last tournament, we had an optional practice and invited the moms to come scrimmage the girls.  We had a blast!  It was a great way to end the season.

I don't think coaching volleyball is in my future, but I thoroughly enjoyed coaching this season.  I'm so glad these girls got to play.  I hope there's a lot of volleyball in Monroe's future because I love this sport!
