We got a dog!

My kids have been begging for a dog for a few years now.  I really didn't want one, but if we were going to get one, I had very specific things I wanted.  I wanted it to be a rescue that was not a puppy, was non shedding, and was little.  I filled out paperwork at both animal shelters in town over the last year and a half.  I got a call the Friday before spring break that they had a dog they thought I might be interested in.  Zach and I went to visit him first.  He was a great size and had a calm demeanor.  We decided he was the dog we wanted.  The next morning we took the kids to meet him.  We didn't tell them where we were going or what we were doing.

Huxley (HUX) is a 2.5 year old Maltese poodle.  He is 5.5 pounds. He is house trained, doesn't chew on our stuff, doesn't bark, and is overall perfect!

We love our new addition to the family!

January and February Fun

There was quite a bit of snow to play in for a while.

Monroe dug a tunnel

For the 100th day of school, they were supposed to decorate a shirt with 100 things.
This is Graham's class.

The boys started asking to go to Sports Clips after seeing commercials for it.  I thought it was a cute request, so I took them on a day off of school. They thought all the extras were pretty cool.  It was more expensive than I expected, but it was a fun experience for them.

Monroe has had a few opportunities this year to go to some student workshops.  This one was on promoting your school events through social media posts.

The staff had "Dress and talk like a middle schooler" day at school.  We had an absolute blast!

My awesome team!

Zach's Birthday

Zach turned 39 on Feb 26th.

The kids and I got him Girl Scout cookies, some new shirts, stuff for his grill, and a new pillow.

He chose Texas Roadhouse for supper.  His parents came with us.

Basketball for Pierce and Graham

Zach coached the boys in a youth basketball league in January.  Both boys did well and improved in their play and teamwork.  They had a good little team with lots of players who knew what to do.

They were disappointed that the season was short, so I signed them up for a skills competition.

They shot free throws
