The circus

We took Monroe to the circus on Monday night.
She was excited for it to start even though she didn't know what we were about to see.

Monroe's favorite parts were the elephants and when "Elsa" came out and sang "Let It Go" from Frozen.

The circus is not my favorite thing, but we get free tickets every year, so why not go?  And, I like giving Monroe a variety of experiences.   She enjoyed it.

Haircuts

I got my hair cut a couple weeks ago.  I cut off six inches.  I have really liked it, and I am learning to do it different ways.

On Friday, Zach and Monroe each got a hair cut.  I have been struggling with Monroe's hair for a while now.  Her hair is curly, but it doesn't stay curly all day.  I always pull back the front in some way because it gets in her eyes.  I can do cute things with it, but I don't know if I'm damaging it by always pulling it up.  She has really dry hair that breaks easily.
I am really glad I took her in.  Jennifer evened it all out and gave me a cream to use in her hair.  It gives her hair moisture and helps it hold its curl all day.  Now I can leave it down and let it grow.  I love what it looks like!

Zach wanted to try something new with his hair.  He had her cut the sides really short and leave the top long.  We both really like it!

Valentine's Day

We had Friday off of school.  Zach's parents came up Thursday evening to watch Monroe so we could go out.  We wanted to avoid the V-day crowd the next night.
They brought a gift for all of us.

Me and my girl

I love our little family!

We went to Texas T-bone for supper.  The food was great and so was the company!

The next day, Monroe opened her gift from us.  We got her a couple puzzles and flash card sets.

And the Frozen CD.  She thought it was the movie, so she was a little disappointed.  We have been singing the songs nonstop.

The puzzles were perfect for her.
That night we went out to supper the three of us.

On Saturday night, we watched Cale so Patrick and Emily could go out.  It was fun to have him.

Happy Valentines Day!

Valentine's Party

On Wednesday our schools had Valentine's parties in the afternoons.  Mikki is the room mom in her daughter's class, so Monroe came to our room and joined us for our party.  She loved being there and the students loved having her.

One of the parents planned a photo booth for our party.  It was a huge success!

We also played some other fun games like picking up candy hearts with chopsticks.

I love this picture!

Weekend in Lincoln

On Friday night we drove to Lincoln for our nephew, Karter's, birthday party.  It is hard to believe, but he is seven!  His party was at Solid Rock Gymnastics.  Monroe was the littlest one there.  She had a great time!

Monroe loved the zipline!

At the end, they had all of the kids get two foam squares out of the pit.  Then Karter went on the zipline, and the kids all threw their squares at him.

That night we stayed with Dustin and Julie so that we could see them while we were in town.

The next morning, we went to Josh and Megan's for a few hours to see them and have lunch.  Then, at 1:00, we went to watch Karter play basketball.

We were in Lincoln for less that 24 hours, but we were able to see most of our siblings while there.
