Runcie Christmases

On New Years Eve we got together with Zach's family.  Doug made beef wellington, which was delicious.

Then we opened gifts from Zach's grandparents and gave them our gifts.

Then next morning, we opened gifts from Nana and Papa.

We got Monroe and Haven matching ear warmers

Graham wanted to wear his new shoes, so he opened the rest of his gifts in his diaper and shoes.

Moana!

Our boys love these horse bouncers

Monroe was so excited to get an American Girl doll.

She got a Truly Me doll that looks just like her.  She named her Clara.

That afternoon, we went to Brooke and David's for the Schwab Christmas.

Pierce loved the big boy toys

Burkle Christmas

The week after Christmas my parents came to visit with my grandma.  My grandma spent the month of December and half of January with my parents.  We had a warmer day, so we decided to get the kids out to play in the snow.  The boys didn't have snow pants, so we wrapped their legs in plastic bags.  It worked really well!

I can't remember why Pierce is crying.  Maybe he was upset about being done.

A couple days later, we drove to Lincoln for the Burkle Christmas.  We had planned to host, but it didn't work out.  After Pierce got sick, my brother's girls had fevers.  We all had only one day to be together, and it worked out better in Lincoln.
We ate Christmas dinner first.  Then, we did our food competition.  This year it was a drink challenge.  Everyone made one drink for the kids to vote on, and one drink for the adults to vote on.

The kids went first.  The winner was unanimous.

Then it was the adults' turn
Rod lit their drink on fire.  Unfortunately, I couldn't capture the flames on camera.

Josh and Megan's drink was called the orange bowl.  Long story.

Zach and Megan won both the kids and adult category.  The other teams felt like an alcoholic oreo milk shake might be stretching the lines of the category "drink", but it was delicious!

Then, it was time for gifts.

Adorable kids in adorable jammies

One of our gifts to my mom was an apron made with the kids' handprints

While we were together, we also each took 4 generation pictures with my grandma.

Even though our time all together was short, we were blessed to be together.
