Monroe switched from trumpet to French horn. Her band teacher suggested it because she has such a good musical ear, and French horn is not easy.
Our last weekend to swim
The middle school had a brass group come perform and work with the band students. Monroe and I went to a small concert of theirs that evening. The group introduced the room to Monroe and said how impressed they were with her musicality when they worked with her that day.
Afterward, they asked if we could stick around. They wanted a picture with her. They also gave her a signed poster, CD, and T-shirt. I'm not sure what she did to impress them, but they were big fans of Monroe.
