Being show choir newbies, we had no idea what to expect with our first show choir season. We knew the weekends would be long, and that Monroe would love it. We had no idea how much we would fall in love with these kids, the families, and their unbelievable show.
The first competition was in Glenvil, IA. We did not go in expecting to win, but we won Grand Champs!
We hosted the 2nd competition, Tiger Clash, where we got to watch our two biggest rivals, but not compete against them yet.
The third competition was in Sioux Falls, SD. We went into the competition projected to get 6th, and we won Grand Champion again!
Our fourth competition was at GI Northwest. We have never beaten Grand Island Senior High in a competition before. We beat them and won Grand Champs!
At Wahoo, competition 5, we won Grand Champs.
The final competition was at GISH. We have never beaten GI Northwest. After trailing them in the prelims, we beat them in the finals! We got second place to Gretna, the best show choir in the state. This 2nd place finish felt like getting 1st! We were all so proud!
It was an incredible freshman year for Monroe and her friends! Topping this experience will be tough. Mr. Yost has a difficult job of creating another show as incredible and moving as this year's.
Our family absolutely loved show choir season. Zach was one of the stage dads, and the boys and I happily sat through hours and hours of performances. They can't wait for their turn at show choir in a few years.
Here is the show if you have 15 minutes to watch the whole thing.
