Snowmageddon

A blizzard had been in the forecast for a week or so, but no one knew if it would really happen.  On Monday afternoon, they called off school for Tuesday before the snow had even started.  It was nice to know ahead of time so that we could prepare and not set our alarms.
The snow was falling when we woke up on Tuesday.

Snow day tradition:  Minnie Mouse pancakes

Monroe's Valentine's for preschool
She and Grandma had bought and decorated these dogs a couple weeks ago.  I convinced Monroe that they would make perfect Valentines.

Giving us a concert

A fire in the fireplace and a blizzard outside.

It turns out that the forecast was correct.  We got dumped on!

Cookies

We got an email early afternoon on Tuesday that school was closed for Wednesday.
Usually, I can walk under these branches.  They were touching the snow.

The snow outside the sliding door on the deck.

Zach was very thankful for his snow blower!

Getting outside to play

It was hard to walk

Monroe wanted a tunnel, so Zach got to work.

Good job, Zach!

On Wednesday afternoon, we got the news that we would have one more day at home.  We couldn't believe it!
Banana muffins

We got a total of 18.3 inches of snow.  It is the second largest amount in Grand Island history.  Add in the wind, and there were huge drifts everywhere.  The roads were horrible!  The city is still trying to get roads cleared a week later.
We were thankful for 3 days at home together!

Baby Update

We had an appointment on the 26th with the perinatologist.  She was very pleased with the boys' growth.  They were the same size as each other and measured a little ahead of schedule, which is great for twins.  She confirmed that there are two placentas.  Because of this and their growth, she cut back our appointments with her to just once a month.  Although it feels weird to not be monitored so closely, it is nice that the riskiness of this pregnancy keeps going down.  She told us to expect a delivery anywhere from 32-38 weeks (April 1st-May 12th).

Baby B

Baby C

The boys are moving all the time! Monroe wants to feel them often, but she is rarely patient enough.  About a week ago, she put her hand on my tummy right as one of them gave a huge kick.  She was ecstatic!  She was jumping up and down, squealing, hugging me, hugging them, and dancing around.  It was super cute!  Since then, she has felt them more often.  Now, she knows what she is waiting for.

When we bought this house, the nursery was purple.

Now it's navy
We've hung a few things on the walls as well, but I'll show the full nursery later.

22 Weeks

23 weeks

39 weeks with Monroe

I really have nothing to complain about.  My back doesn't hurt, no heart burn, I don't get up in the night, I've only had leg cramps one night, no headaches, and my nausea is gone. Other than feeling big, I am feeling really good.  I hope that continues.

This is such a fun memory!

I went in with friends and bought my first-ever Powerball tickets.
We won $16, but we spent a bit more than that :)

We went to our first GI basketball game of the year.  They had pompoms for sale.

Making banana bread

Our friends, the Bachmans, had twins on January 5th.  It was fun to meet the babies and imagine our life in a few months.
Griffey

Gillian

Ready or not!

Sonic had $0.50 corndogs one day, so we had to take advantage of that.

Sawyer came for a visit

Monroe learned the state song over the last month.

Monroe had Mommy and Me day at preschool

She had fun with her friends at the bounce house

And we made this craft

That afternoon we went to Kearney to do some shopping and play at the Big Apple.  The Eickhoffs met us there, but I didn't get a picture of the girls.

Playing grocery store with Daddy

Doing some dishes

Monroe has learned to tie, and she loves it!

Mismatch day

Grandma and Monroe's snowman

My dad and Monroe have a really fun relationship.  They are constantly wrestling, tickling, and giving each other a hard time.  My dad doesn't let anyone come near his feet, but he let Monroe do "Little Piggy" on his toes.

My mom found these growing foam animals at the store, so she had to get some for Monroe.  I remember them from when I was a kid.
