Camping

We went camping with Zach's parents and many friends in mid September.  The weather Saturday was hot enough for swimming.

So many kids to play with

I took these four on a bike ride to the river.

S'mores

The next morning was quite chilly.

Then it started raining.  It was actually nice for us because we went home in the morning and had most of Sunday at home.

My favorite picture from the weekend.  This is Pierce, and I smile every time I see it.

Soccer and Volleyball Start

Pierce and Graham are playing soccer for the first time ever.  When we signed them up, we had no idea what to expect.  The first game was so fun to watch.  They acted like they'd been playing for years.  They were very aggressive and knew just what to do (minus the passing to other players part).  Other parents even asked us how old they were and how long they'd played.

The kids are on the ground a lot

Monroe is playing volleyball again.  She is on a team with a lot of her friends.  She is fun to watch because she gets the game and is more aggressive than others on her team.

Serving is much more consistent this year for everyone, and there's more back and forth play.

Wrigley

My sister and her family got a new puppy this summer.  Wrigley is a blue and tan French bulldog.  We offered to watch her sometime, and they took us up on the offer over Labor Day weekend.  We had her for five days.

Our kids wore her out.  Most days we had to have required rest time for Wrigs.

This was her favorite spot during every meal.  My boys didn't feed her, but she licked a lot of fingers :)

She slept in Monroe's room each night.  The first night was rough as it was new to both of them.  After that they both crashed.  We were thankful she slept there because Zach and I worried about sleeping through her snoring.

We thoroughly enjoyed having Wrigley at our house.  All three kids went from being jumpy and uncertain to calm and comfortable.  Monroe was VERY responsible with taking care of her.  Are we ready for a dog ourselves?  No.  But it was fun to have one for a little while and see how everyone did.
