Nebraska High School Theater Awards

Little Shop of Horrors earned best musical, so Monroe got to perform at the Orpheum Theater.

Before the show, all of the performers get dressed up and walked the red carpet.

Monroe got to open up their song with her big solo!

It was a really fun night that showcased some amazing vocal and theatrical talent from high school students.  Monroe walked away with some new lofty goals for her high school career.

Track meets

Pierce and Graham competed in our city track meet.

Pierce had been sick the few days before, and wasn't feeling good after running his first event, so he ended up scratching from his last two events.

Pierce qualified for the state meet in the long jump. Graham qualified in the 200 and 400.

The morning of the state meet, there was projected rain, so they canceled the field events.  We were really bummed.

My nephew (in the orange shorts) ran the 800

Pierce ran right after Graham, and I didn't get over to get a picture of his start

The state meet was a good experience, but both boys said they don't want to go back.  They are used to being the best at most things they do, and that was not the case at state track :)

Tigerette Breakfast

Monroe made the Tigerettes dance team for her sophomore year!

Soon after tryouts, we found out that her coach, who had only been there one year, was moving. The program has had a lot of turnover the last few years, and it felt like they needed consistency.
Enter me, someone with no dance experience, other than being a dance mom.  I applied to be the coach and was given the job.
Our first event was hosting rush breakfast at our house. They started by getting each girl out of bed.  Then they did a photo scavenger hunt around town.

The team that won the photo scavenger hunt

freshmen

sophomores (missing one)

juniors

seniors

I have A LOT to learn, but I hope to make this year a positive one for this wonder team of ladies.
