Leaves

The neighbor boys raked up a huge pile of leaves.  We took advantage of their work, and went and jumped in the pile.

I don't know what this face is, but I love it!

Grandparents' Day

My parents came to town this weekend to attend Monroe's Grandparents' Day at preschool.  (Zach's parents had prior commitments.)

Monroe and her classmates performed four songs.

Then she showed them her classroom.

And met her teacher, whom she loves!

They also did a craft and bought a book at the book fair.

The two pumpkin patches near town had deals that afternoon for the kids and grandparents.  We went to the Scarecrow Patch, since we went to Helgoth's last week.

It was chilly when we got there, but it turned out to be a beautiful day.

My parents had never been to a pumpkin patch before.  They loved watching Monroe play and playing with her.

What a fun day!
Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa!

Ready for Fall

I have never been one to decorate for different seasons, but I love the colors of fall.  Having a bigger house, I have wanted more fall decor.
Our wonderful neighbors invited us over the other day to take some gourds.  They had a bunch, and we could take as many as we wanted.  Monroe and I had fun selecting a bag full and then going back for more.

These pumpkins are new this year

This would look so much better on the dining room table that's still in pieces in the garage :)

This was made for me by one of my student's moms

We usually buy pumpkins and then paint or decorate them in some way.  This year, on a whim, I decided I wanted to get some weird looking ones. I think we succeeded.
