February Fun

The boys had career day at school.  Thanks to a few friends, they had awesome outfits to wear.

Pierce, the pilot

Getting their Valentines ready

We went to the store to pick out Valentine candy and buy stuff to decorate boxes for the boys.  While there, I had a stroke of parenting genius.  We walked out with these bags.  They took them as their Valentine boxes.

My first loaf of sourdough bread.  I'm hooked!

The Hastings High vs. Adams Central basketball games are always so competitive and fun to be at.  Hastings lost to the AC girls in double over time.  The boys won.

One of my students from last year bought me my favorite: raspberry KitKat

We went to Fiddler on the Roof with friends at the Orpheum.  I had never seen it.  It was a great show!

This high school boy took on Monroe and two friends in a game of basketball.  It was so sweet!

If you are a puzzle fanatic like I am, you need to look into Liberty Puzzles.  We borrowed this one from Zach's teaching partner.  It was so fun!

Zach's birthday

Zach's birthday was disappointing this year because the boys had a stomach bug the day before and the day after.

When you where your Dudes almost daily, you should probably get two new pair.
We also got him a cooling pillowcase and an air tag keychain to help him find his keys.

Graham helped me make Zach's dessert.

We went to Fuji for supper with his parents, and then went home for dessert.
Oreo layer dessert--his favorite

Monroe is playing club volleyball this year.  She is the libero.

She loved being the head ref!

Quizbowl and Spelling Bee

Monroe made her school's academic quiz bowl team.  She got to compete against other schools.  Zach and I weren't able to go watch but Nana did.  Also, it was at Uncle Dustin's church, so he got to watch some as well.

The next week, Monroe also got to go to the Adams County Spelling Bee.  She was one of two fifth graders from our school.

Putting on a show they wrote together

In putting away my Christmas decorations, I realized I have a Christmas tree problem.

After teaching my class the game "Sevens" my teammates wanted to learn.
